KARAVELA invests millions in new production lines

EUR 6 million to be invested in new processing lines as a part of the Company`s growth strategy to increase production by 70%.

In order to develop a private label manufacturing for Western markets, the company is opening a new processing plant and investing more than EUR 4,5 million. The company will specialize in producing of blanched mackerel and smoked fish fillets in Dingly, Club, 1/4P-long and Hansa cans.

The new facility will allow the company to diversify export markets and to work more efficiently. The factory will be located in existing factory in Riga. This is one of the few new projects in food production in Latvian canned fish industry. It is planned that the project should be completed by mid –year 2012. Production, which will be produced in the new plant, will be exported to Denmark, Sweden, France, England supermarkets.
